Who was the youngest rookie ever defeated into the major leagues?

Answered By Bob Hanneck, Editor

It was Dwight Gooden. He was awarded as the Rookie of the Year in November 20 1984. The award was given to him four days after his 20th birthday.

Dwight Gooden is very brilliant in his career and his level of enthusiasm is superb. He was the greatest pitcher ever seen in the league.

He is like Hercules that strangles the serpents at his crib, Gooden, even from an improbably young age, seemed on an unswerving course of greatness.
