What is the difference between baseball and softball?Answered By Bob Hanneck, Editor A team scores only when batting, by advancing past a series of four markers called bases arranged at the corners. Softball is a variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Despite of its name, the used is not soft but it is larger than baseball.
