Is Baseball Still America's Favorite Pastime?By John Cooper When I was a child, baseball was Americas favorite pastime. As kids, we would get together in an open field or someones backyard, pick sides (I was always the last one to be chosen) and play ball. We didnt have real bases. We would use a piece of scrap, an old bicycle tire or the like to mark first, second and third base. Home plate was usually a bare spot on the ground. We never had an umpire so we didnt worry about a strike zone. We went out there and had fun. I dont see pick-up games in my neighborhood anymore. It may be because kids have so many electronic games to play they dont need to go out on the school lot or backyard to be entertained. Or, it may be baseball itself! We no longer have to wait for the World Series to see how the National League stacks up against the America League. The two leagues match up against each other several times during the regular season. The players are so over conditioned they are continuously getting injured. What happened to the cigar smoking, beer drinking baseball players of old? Now they lift weights to develop muscles that will be strained, sprained, spasm, pulled or popped at the drop of a hat. Most of these injuries were never heard of when baseball was Americas favorite pastime. I started an internet site ( http://www.baseballstoreonline.com ) a few months ago, thinking people would be interested in purchasing baseball related items. I guess I was wrong. Not only are consumers not interested in purchasing, I am having a hard time finding drop shippers to supply baseball products if I did make a sale. What is happening to baseball? http://www.baseballstoreonline.com About the Author: I am an internet marketing expert. I have been marketing on the internet for approximately ten years. At present I am marketing six websites. If anyone is interested in my websites please email me.
